FAQs

Is this suitable if I’m planning an induction or caesarean?

Yes. Antenatal preparation and hypnobirthing are relevant for all types of birth. The focus is on understanding what to expect, feeling informed, and having tools to support calm and confidence, whatever your birth looks like.

Will this guarantee a calm or pain-free birth?

No. Birth is unpredictable and no course can promise outcomes. These sessions aim to support realistic preparation, coping strategies and informed decision-making, rather than making guarantees.

I’m feeling anxious about birth. Is this still appropriate?

Yes. Many people seek antenatal or hypnobirthing support because they’re feeling anxious or unsure. Sessions are supportive and evidence-informed, with space to explore concerns without pressure or judgement.

Do birth partners need to attend?

Partners are strongly encouraged to attend where possible. They play an important role in labour and birth, and sessions include practical ways they can offer support and advocate effectively.

Is this evidence based?

Yes. Sessions draw on birth physiology, current guidance and evidence-informed practice, while respecting individual preferences and circumstances.

When is the best time to attend?

Most people attend between around 20–35 weeks of pregnancy, but support can still be valuable outside this window. If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to get in touch to discuss what might work best.

Is this in-person or online?

Sessions are available in Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy and online. This can be discussed when booking.

How is this different from standard antenatal classes?

These sessions are more flexible and individualised, allowing time to focus on your specific questions, emotional preparation and practical coping strategies rather than following a fixed group syllabus. This is also much more in-depth than standard NHS provided courses.

Can this be combined with other antenatal classes or courses?

Yes. Many parents use these sessions alongside NHS or other antenatal classes for additional support and personalised preparation.
